Step into the heart of Finnish history on a guided day trip to the idyllic Hollola church village, home to the impressive medieval St. Mary’s Stone Church. This excursion uniquely combines culture, stories, and stunning nature.

We will explore the church surroundings and the cultural landscape created by the Old Parsonage and the Old Town Hall. Along the way, you will hear fascinating stories about the local giant Hollo, Iron Age artifact finds, and how C.L. Engel, the architect who designed Helsinki’s Senate Square, is connected to the Hollola church village.

We will also climb the adjacent Kapatuosia hillfort, where Stone Age people already stopped over 8,000 years ago. From the Viking Age to the Middle Ages, the hill possibly served as a place of refuge and defense. At the summit, you can climb the observation tower, which offers a beautiful view over Lake Vesijärvi.

The trip is crowned by a delicious lunch in the church village. For dessert, we will get ice creams from the atmospheric village kiosk.
