Hundreds of sandy beaches and beautiful lagoons

Located in southern Lake Päijänne, the park encompasses around fifty undeveloped islands and islets, as well as parts of inhabited islands and the Pulkkilanharju ridge. The heart of Päijänne National Park, Kelvenne, is one of the largest and most impressive esker islands formed by the last Ice Age in Finland. The islands boast a total of approximately 80 kilometers of shoreline, making them easily accessible by boat for enjoying the natural beauty while hiking.
